Team League report. (by Shauna Hole).
Hi All, Away Cup 22/01/2012. Due to the strong winds it was decided to change the venue of the Away cup to Hopes Nose - Berry Head Only 7 members braved the cold (I'm sure it had nothing to do with hangovers from presentation night!) Rowey's 'Bass Bandits' had 2 members fishing with a total of 13 points, George's 'Drew’s Militia' had 1 member fishing who earned 9 points, Bri's 'Norse Warriors' had 2 members fishing unfortunately failed to weigh in but earnt 6 points and Andy's 'Appy Anglers' had just 1 team member who also failed to weigh in but earnt 3 points. So after the second competition of the year here are the points: Bass Bandits - 44, Norse Warriors - 35, 'Appy Anglers' - 23 and 'Drew’s Militia' - 18. Hopefully we should have a good turn-out for the next competition which is 05/02/2012 February Species hunt fortnight, see you then Shauna.
Monthly League: February (by Pingu Thoburn).
6 hardy souls ventured to Sidmouth on a freezing February evening to contest the next leg of the Wednesday Social league there was more swell running than expected and with car gauges already showing -1* we all hunkered down between 2 sets of groins, being feb scratching tactics were used by all the usual specimens were caught for this time of year being whiting, pout and rockling. come the weigh in all had caught but not all had fish in size winner was Richard gray for 8 points. second Dave Thoburn 6 points 3rd Paul rowe 4 points 2 points each for Carl parsons, Shane Milliner and Gareth Moffat. next month being the worst fishing month of the year and as this is a social league it was unanimously decided that we would just hold a social at the Holly Tree Pub Withycombe Rd, 8pm onwards, all obviously are welcome but there are no points being awarded for the pool or darts champion on the evening haha cheers dave
Specimen League: January (by Ade Jones).
A chance for all the rest, yes Pete Gregory has failed to score. Here are the scores for the month Paul Rowe 2pts Adrian Jones 3pts A slow start but i am assured that the scores will be plentiful soon .So all you anglers get out and catch those fish . The fish for the month of February are the following: Pout, Bass, and there is a bonus fish of Thornback Ray, just as a reminder to you all that bonus fish will only count if you have already recorded one of the selected spieces of that month first.

January Wednesday league 2012 (by Pingu).
Well after a shaky start week before where I had cancelled match due to dire weather warning, and then finding 3 hardy ( or brave) people did fish, wed 11 saw the first proper competition A good turnout of 11 anglers contested the match on budliegh beach and most caught, there was a mixed bag of fish but mostly whiting and pout, although 2 unseasonal mackerel were caught Winner on the night was Paul Rowe closely followed by Ken Williams then joint third Dave Thoburn and Kevin Dunn Apologies for the muck up on the first week, all sorted and up and running properly now Next month will be sidmouth seafront, harbour chit rocks meeting in the swimming pool car park 7pm CheersDave

26 members fished the exe + teign flounder quest, making it a real good start to the year. With near perfect conditions hopes were high for a bumper session like we had before xmas.
